It is catalan. Barcelona is the capital of Catalonia (northeast of Spain), and its language it is catalan. Catalan comes from latin (as spanish, french,italian etc...) and besides catalonia it is also spoken in Valencia (where it is called valencià), the Balearic islands and the southeast of france.
